Battle in the Streets
by SW
|
Police were dispatched to an altercation late last
night that took place on West Franklin Street. They received a call
around 10:45 P.M. stating that there a significant fight going on.
Sgt. C. Douglas was about to go off duty when he was dispatched to the
call. "I drove up and everybody was kung fu fighting," Sgt. Douglas said. "I had to call for backup." The fight brought several people out of their homes to watch. Eyewitnesses describe the scene as 'a little bit frightning', despite the amazing expertise displayed by the combatants present. "It's not something you see everyday," James Newton, a resident said, "I mean, those guys were really fast as lightning." There was not as much of a spectacle when the police arrived to break the fight up. Despite his 15 years in the police force, Sgt. Douglas found the scene rather amazing. "This was a highly organized event," the officer said. "Everyone seemed to know exactly what part they were playing." Two men were apprehended at the scene, one a Mr. Billy Chen and another Mr. Sammy Chong. Witnesses indicated that these men were involved in an elaborate form of 'trapping', which they were capable of doing while being up and down. Mr. Chen and Mr. Chong were released after promising to appear in court. "It was not our fault," Chen said, "Sammy and I were standing around, and suddenly he said, 'here comes the big boss'." Apparently there is some kind of longstanding grudge between Chen, Chong and the big boss, the nature of which is currently unknown. |
